Food & Drink at The Plough

Good wholesome pub grub

As part of the refurbishment we took the opportunity to relocate the kitchen to a new purpose built location. This was designed and built by a specialist company, Caterplan of Hampshire, including all new equipment.

Our food is wholesome and tasty and sensibly priced. Whenever possible we source locally and all meals are freshly prepared on the premises. We offer specials reflecting the season and availability and Karlene is always encouraging Stacey, our chef, to add some Jamaican spice!

A Sunday Roast is offered in addition to our regular menu.

We have a fine range of drinks on tap and pump; cask beers including Doom Bar and Palmers Copper, and keg offerings including Moretti, Amstel, Red Stripe, Kronenbourg, Guinness and Thatchers Gold. Naturally we have a wide range of spirits, wines and non-alcoholic offerings to quench every thirst.

We will always try to fit you in if you just pop in but we do advise booking in advance especially for larger groups. Our new garden room, much warmer than the old conservatory, offers wonderful views over to Hambledon Hill and our new dining room is perfect for groups who prefer secluded dining.

Only here for the beer…

Decent ales, a robust selection of wines, a healthy stock of your favourite spirits as well as plenty of non-alcoholic and soft drinks: The Plough will aim to satisfy the thirst of all of our customers.

Like all good country pubs, we have a sturdy range of draught ales, lager and ciders. Sharps Doom Bar and Palmers Copper are our regular cask ales and we offer a wide range of both keg and bottled beers, lagers and ciders.

Our wine selection will range from affordable yet flavoursome house wines to more premium varieties for those with sophisticated tastes or just pushing the boat out. Reds, whites, rosés, sparkling and dessert wines will all be available by the glass or bottle.

As well as your favourite stock-in-trade spirits we’ll also be featuring some special guest tipples. The market in craft gins, vodka and rum is now insatiable and it would be a sin to keep some of them from you. We will, of course, have some late night whiskies and brandies for those who fancy a wee nightcap before heading home.
